INDY IS BACK AGAIN!!!!! [21 Feb 2006|07:59pm]

[ mood | creative ]

Spielberg announced yesterday that the next movie he is releasing is the long awaited Indiana Jones 4. Spielberg finally broke the silence in a recent interview with Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper:

“I haven’t given up making entertaining films, but over the last decade I have been making some films that express the respect I have for history,” Spielberg said.

“I am about to make ‘Indiana Jones 4,’ which is, as far as I am concerned, the sweet dessert I give those who had to chow down on the bitter herbs that I’ve used in ‘Munich.’”

All I can say is, it is a long over do treat for spielberg and Indy fans alike. I, for one, can not wait for this movie.

Greetings All [04 Jan 2006|09:17pm]

[ mood | pensive ]

Well, I hope everyone is going to see spielberg's latest "Munich". It was released in limited theaters on the 23rd and will be everywhere else on the 6th of January. I was lucky enough to live near at theater that released it on the 23th. Let me just say, this is a powerful piece of film making. Suspenseful, emotional, and ground breaking. Wouldn't expect anything more from Spielberg. I've got my fingers crossed that it will win best picture at the oscars. Hoping also that "War of the Worlds" will nab a few oscars as while.
Heard some news the other day that Spielberg was going to remake "Mary Poppins". Was excited to say the least. I'm a big fan of the older movie and would love to see some new life breathed into it. Spielberg would be just the man to do that. Then today read that it was a rumor. Will I hope that it is more then just a rumor. I would love to see spielberg's name over "Mary Poppins" on a movie poster. I can dream.
Spielberg has purchased the rights to the book "Team of Rivals", which seems to be the new title of the Lincoln/Civil War/Spielberg project. With this and his Indy 4 project, Spielberg is going to be very busy this 2006 and I for one cannot wait for 2007 when both are expected to be released.

Greeting All [27 Oct 2005|06:35pm]

I know it's been awhile since I updated, but I really hope that we can keep this site alive. So, to everyone please post.

Some Updates in the World of Spielberg

MUNICH is in post production and is very close to being released. December 23 to be exact. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait. From what I have read it is going to be a great movie. It is already the frontrunner to take home the Best Picture/Best Director awards at the Oscars this year. Though I hope he also gets something for War of the Worlds, cause that was a great movie. Saw the poster for the movie. Looks great, I bought it the other day. Adding it to my other spielberg posters.

Thne there's his latest. The Abe Lincoln project. Spielberg has choosen Liam Neeson for the roll of "Honest Abe". A great idea in my book because of his remarkable work in Schindler's List. Love the Civil War era and I think Spielberg is just the right person to bring this story to the screen. He did a great job with Amistad.

Indy 4, well, nothing really new there. They need to get their asses in gear cause they've been promising this movie for years. Come on, I need my Indy.

Now for my Jedi powers. You will buy the 2 Disk Special Edition of War of the World. Buy it on November 22nd. From what I have seen on Amazon, the other single disk on looks kind of dumb. Also, pick up the new "Into the West" DVD cause the series was great. Right up there with Band of Brothers in my book.

Ok, until next time. Keep on posting.

[ mood | tired ]

My friend April and I are running a War of the Worlds RPG. We're pretty low on people right now, and I was wondering if there might be some one here interested in joining. The only characters taken right now are robbie (obviously) and ray. If any of you would like to join, either as an established character or an original character, we'd love it. Just go to the war_ooc  page and submit your application and we'll check it out. Thanks alot.

Awwwww, Hi I just want to introduce myself.
I'm Robyn, and Mr. Spielberg here is one of my favourite directors of all time. I remember watching his films when I was little. I've have seen so many of his movies compared to other directors that I've lost count. I'd say out of my favourite movies he's directed I just heart the Indiana Jones trilogy and Saving Private Ryan, of course I still love his other movies. :D Looking forward to talking to you guys

Well, no one's really posting on here. Kind of sucks, but hey if all else fails, I'll talk to myself.

Has anyone seen the Turkish remake,(shouldn't use that work) just plane rip-off of E.T. I didn't know anything about it until the other day when I saw copies of it on ebay. I wasn't going to pay $35 for E.T. rip-off so one of my friends downloaded it. Let me just say it is nothing short of laughable. I can't even believe that this movie ever got made. It is poorly made and stupid. My little cousin could make a better movie with paint brush. First of all they can never remade or redo E.T., the acting is horrible, it looks like they spent about five dollars on it, and their "E.T." looks like a muppet. Leave the redoing and restoring to Spielberg. He knows what he's doing. No wonder you never hear about any Turkish movies.

Please, if you see this movie, turn it off and watch Spielberg's E.T. You'll like it a whole lot better.

The 77th Annual Academy Awards (My Picks) [27 Feb 2005|10:07am]

[ mood | chipper ]

So excited that the Academy Awards is on Sunday. Here's my predictions of who's going to win:

Best Picture: Million Dollar Baby- The greatest film of 2005 in my opinion, but it's only February and Spielberg's "War of the Worlds hasn't come out yet so probably shouldn't say that.

Best Director: Maybe Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby) but I think it would be great if Martin Scorsese (The Aviator) won cause he has yet to win.

Best Actor: Clint Eastwood (Million Dollar Baby) or Jamie Foxx (Ray). Either could win cause they were both great.

Best Actress: Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby) or Kate Winslet (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).

Best Supporting Actor: Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby) or Clive Owen (Closer)

Best Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett (The Aviator) or Natalie Portman (Closer)

Best Original Screenplay: Charlie Kaufman (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)

Best Adapted Screenplay: Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby)

Animated Feature: Shrek 2

Art Direction: The Phantom of the Opera

Cinematography: The House of Flying Daggers

Costume: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events or Troy

Documentary Feature: Super Size Me

Documentary Short Subject: Sister Rose's Passion

Film Editing: Collateral

Foreign Language Film: As It Is in Heaven (Sweden)

Makeup: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events

Original Score: Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, Finding Neverland

Original Song: Accidentally in Love' from Shrek 2

There my picks for the Oscar winners for 2005. Check back and see if I'm right.
